We want to welcome to the TechBirmingham community Stewart of Alabama. We are featuring Carol Stewart, who is the Senior Account Manager. She is from Decatur, Alabama and has lived in Birmingham for 29 years.

We are so glad you joined the TechBirmingham community, Carol! Tell us a little about your company Stewart of Alabama.

We sell and service multi-function Xerox and Toshiba products from printers, to scanners, copying, facsimile, wide format printers and imaging software solutions. We offer managed print services.

What do you think is the biggest challenge in your industry?

Finding ways to set yourself apart from others.

What is the most exciting trend you see in the Birmingham Tech Scene?

The strengths are that it is a growing field in our area. The talent level seems to be limited. But there are quite a few ground floor opportunities to be explored.

How do you see the Birmingham Tech Scene evolving?

Just through my affiliation with Tech Birmingham so far, I have been exposed to many new upcoming and thriving developments in software and management solutions from local companies which seems to be a growing trend for the Birmingham area.

What exciting news or product/service announcements does your company have on the horizon?

We are able to offer a complete comprehensive managed print services solution to help companies get their arms around their printing and imaging needs. We are able to help people lower their printer costs and have better control. This allows them to focus on the core business that they represent and frees up costly resources.

What kind of impact do you want to make with your involvement in TechBirmingham?

I would like to learn more about evolving solutions and local providers and how Stewart of Alabama can contribute to make companies more successful.

What advice would you give to a person starting out in your industry or in the work force?

KeepĀ a positive attitude, never give up, and learn as much as you can about your competitors.

Anything else about you or your company you want us to share?

Our quick Guaranteed 90 minute emergency service response time is unmatched in our industry. All of the support for billing is done locally. We warehouse toner and parts locally for a quick response. We are large enough to handle large corporate customers, but still small enough to be flexible. We mold our solutions around what the customer needs, not like other huge companies with the cookie cutter one solution fits all approach.
